Elon Musk and his team have designed and developed a process that ‘rates a 10’ in our book.

His leadership has not only created the fastest production car but also the most advanced manufacturing and assembly process to lead the nation in transportation history. His vision of an all-electric vehicle, that is economical, fast, and exciting has stirred the souls of the motor world’s population. From reviews and testing, he has also kept the focus on the quality of construction and an innovative design element that matches Elon’s racy persona.

Tesla’s plant in Fremont, California, has grown to become ‘the most productive auto factory in North America’, according to a Bloomberg analysis. Producing 8,550 cars a week, Musk’s manufacturing facility lead 70 others from established carmakers such as Toyota, BMW, and Ford. (MB)

“Elon Musk has a very specific vision for the ideal factory: densely packed, vertically integrated, and unusually massive. During Tesla Inc.’s early days of mass production, he was chided for what was perceived as hubris. Now, Tesla’s original California factory has achieved a brag-worthy title: The most productive auto plant in North America.” (By Tom Randall and Demetrios Pogkas, January 24, 2022, Bloomberg)

Elon Musk, like many other entrepreneurs, didn’t create Tesla Motors, but joined the company and began to enhance operation enough to become CEO and take charge leading the company to historical heights. “The original owner of Tesla, engineer Martin Eberhard, was trying to come up with a name for his electric car company. Up until that point, electric cars had almost all been glorified golf carts, but Eberhard envisioned a true performance automobile that would change how people viewed electric cars. So, he didn’t want the name to sound too “green. He’d been pitching ideas to his then-girlfriend (now wife) Carolyn for months, but she hadn’t liked any of them until he proposed the name “Tesla Motors” in honor of Nikola Tesla. She reportedly replied, “Perfect! Now get to work making your car.”

Eberhard’s co-founder Marc Tarpenning liked the name (current CEO Elon Musk hadn’t yet joined the company) and secured the domain teslamotors.com in 2003. An early version of that website explained the name choice thusly: “Without Tesla’s vision and brilliance, our car wouldn’t be possible.” (John Bromels, Motley Fool).

“Funding for the company was obtained from a variety of sources, most notably PayPal cofounder Elon Musk, who contributed more than $30 million to the new venture and served as chairman of the company, beginning in 2004.” (Britannica.com)

We believe that his momentum will carry Elon, as CEO, his team, and his shareholders into the next decade of optimum transportation and financial return. Their efforts and support of an idea began last century with turn-of-the-century Serbian-American inventor and physicist Nikola Tesla (1856-1943). Tesla’s electrical inventions and the use of the latest technology gave Tesla the inspiration and tools they needed to build a great American institution of travel and transport.
